There's a nice long beach area complete with some shaded areas for refuge from the sun/rain/elements. It did rain some this day, but it was alot of fun anyway. Also, it was wonderful to find out Owl's Bend is now a place I can come back to and bring friends!!! When I was a child, our family would come here for the day or even camp out from time to time. It was a very happening place to have family reunions and go camping. There isn't much in the way of camping here, I'm afraid, but we did see a family gathered together for a reunion, so maybe all is not lost? It's only about 2 hours or so south-ish of St. Louis, anyone wanna go???

Finally, a weekend away!
Well, it was father's day this past weekend, and I was finally able to get out of the city for a couple of days. I enjoyed some much needed fun in the sun as well as, riding my dad's 4 wheeler for the first time. It was alot of fun! Of course, I took it easy and didn't try too many adventurous manuvers, but all in all, it was a good time. Here's a pic from Sat. when my cousin and I went to Current River @ Owl's Bend. They have really made this into a nice place to enjoy the river again.

To all those "Anonymous"
Inevitably, there are those in our world, who believe it is their duty to bring their opinions to our attention. Believing so strongly in there right to do so, they come back over and over to regurgitate aforementioned opinions. All the while, so ashamed of themselves, they feel the need to hide their faces behind this thing called "Anonymous."
Well, to those people, I say this: "Grow a set, and come back with your opinions backed with a name/place/face." I do not regard comments left by phantom people. Frankly, it's a waste of everyone's time to even allow this feature. But some people have nothing else of value in there lives to spend their time on, than to bash people and wreak havoc on society.
None of your opinions matter to me, especially regarding my looks. I am not here to impress or disgust anyone. I am here to bear fruit for Christ. Simple as that. Because in 150 years from now, everyone alive right now, anonymous or not, will be dead. So it's not important how I look to you, rather, how I respond to what you are saying to me. If you don't like my picture, stop looking at it.

A much needed break...
Tomorrow, I am taking a much needed break from work and the city! I grew up 1/2 in the city and 1/2 in the country, so I get a little crazy if I stay cooped up in the city too long. I am the kind of person who NEEDS to fill my lungs with fresh country air and feel sun rays on my skin through skies that are void of obtrusive buildingfilled skylines.
My cousin Misty and I made up this great inexpensive get away last year, so now it is a tradition! We share a passion for scrapbooking and going to the river for swimming and soaking in the sun. So, we pack up our cropping supplies and projects, as well as our swim suits and river shoes, and drive about 2 1/2 hours south of St. Louis to the tiny little town of Ellington, MO. Her family owns an old farm about 3 miles outside of town, complete with farmhouse where we stay. Thus eliviating the need for a hotel bill. Also, we take our food and sometimes just drive into town once a day for dinner at THE restaraunt. Yep, there's only the one. It's just a hop and a skip (not even a throw) passed THE stop sign. LOL
Anyway, we like to spend the day on Black River at K Bridge
A few days in the country is just what this girl needs right now!
See you soon!!!

and then at night, we stay up late listening to music and scrapbooking! It's great fun and a special way for the two of us to catch up and spend some girly time together.A few days in the country is just what this girl needs right now!
