Give Me Five favorite or un-favorite things to shop for.
1. Un-Fave: Shoes 2. Fave: Clothes 3. Fave: Crafty Stuff 4. Fave: Airplane tickets for a trip 5. Fave: Gifts
Today I went shoe shopping and I was totally traumatized!! Seriously, I'd rather shop for the best weight loss pills or anything else! I got all worked up and was sweating...I finally figured out 2 pair that might work. The problem is I need 2 different sized shoes. I need a 10W for the left and a 10 1/2 W for the right. One pair I got ended up being size 11 because the 10's just weren't right. Of course, they are a little big on me....UGH!! I D*E*S*P*I*S*E shoe shopping!!

Give Me Five things you would do, if money were no object.
1. Buy enough food to make sure no one would go to bed hungry anywhere on earth. 2. Health care for everyone!!! 3. Sail around the world, three times. 4. Build my own spaceship and fly into space to orbit the earth. Ok, hire really smart people to build it for me, that is. 5. Buy a house in every one of my favorite places in the world and purchase my own plane to go from one to the next.
Wow, it's fun to dream, isn't it?? Sometimes it's just nice to let your mind be free to think of the unthinkable, in a good way :)
I'm sure by now you all have noticed, I missed the Give Me Five meme this past Monday :) What happened was, on Sunday evening I was in bed with my laptop and I ended up falling asleep before midnight and ya'll know I don't post it early. Well I totally fell asleep before I even decided on a topic and created the original post LOL
So, many apologies from me to you! I know I used to do this from time to time because I was having a hard time choosing a topic but this one was an 'oopsy'. Please come back next week to play along with a new topic. Now you all can go back to your Sharepoint or your Youtube videos or whatever else you were doing online before checking in here. :) Perhaps you were playing Mafia Wars over on Facebook? Now you're talking!!!

Give Me Five of your favorite drinks.
1. Water 2. Sweet tea 3. Coke Classic 4. Coffee (cream and sweetener, please) 5. Welch's No Sugar Added Concord grape juice
I guess #5 is pretty specific but I recently tried a bottle of it and I LOVE IT! Being 'no sugar added', I anticipated a tart and unpleasant flavor but I'm really enjoying it. If I decide to start watching my calorie intake, I may just have to consider it a weight loss product :) So how about you, what are 5 of your favorite drinks??

Give Me Five of your favorite ways to be crafty or creative.
1. I love to cook! Can't wait to get my hands juicy and hear that sizzle. 2. Scrapbooking, I love to be creative showing off my pictures. 3. Photography. I've always enjoyed taking pictures of .... well, everything! 4. Crocheting. I'm just getting into it and I'm already creating my own patterns. 5. Various sewing projects. I think it's a lost art, not many of my friends know their way around a sewing machine, sad.
So, how about you? What crafts and crea-tivities do you enjoy?

Give Me Five end-of-summer wrap up thoughts.
Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer time. I had some goals for this summer that went unattended. Also, some of you might want to sum up some of the summer time excitement that you did actually get around to...or some combination of both! :)
1. Visit the river. Easily one of my favorite summer time activities...didn't happen once this year. :(
2. Finish the kitchen project. Some of you may remember stories I've posted about getting a new floor in my kitchen and how everything was in my living room....well, there are certain parts of the kitchen that have yet to make it back into a new home in the newly designed kitchen. Still working on it though!
3. Take advantage of opportunities at my second job. This I have been able to do! I try to say yes whenever my schedule permits. I figure, if I don't work when someone asks me, that is a wasted opportunity to make money that will only come that one time around. So it's been nice to have the extra money. Only trouble is, I seem to need it when it comes instead of getting ahead. Oh well, sometimes keeping up is just as important as not getting behind!
4. Hang out with friends. Clearly affected by #3, I did not enjoy this one as much as I would have liked this summer. But there were a couple of fun times with friends :)
5. Give Me Five meme is back! After a few months on hiatus, I revived the GM5 meme for Mondays and it seems to be a hit, again!! Keep up the great work everyone!!

Give Me Five places in the world you'd like to live for a year.
1. New York, New York 2. England 3. Italy 4. Greece 5. Hawaii
Hey, I can dream, right? I'm feeling that strong desire to get away lately. Last week was very trying. There have been some changes to my life this week that actually have me contemplating moving. That's right, as in pack up some moving boxes and have new keys on my keyring! Until I can make those kinds of changes, I just want to dream about new places to live.

Give Me Five back to school memories.
1. Butterflies in my tummy. 2. Planning that perfect 1st day of school outfit. 3. New school jitters. 4. How heavy books seemed after the summer off. 5. Meeting my new teacher and hoping she was nice.

Give Me Five memorable things you have done before.
1. Flown a few times in a helicopter (loved it!). 2. Floated weightless and care free in one of the pools at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island, Nassau Bahamas. 3. Made pasta by hand at a culinary class in Tuscany. 4. Got up close and personal with the ancient stones of Stonehenge in the English countryside. 5. Stood in awe at the edge of the Grand Canyon.
For me, adventures in travel rank high on my list of happy memories. I don't care to sit around thinking about what Medicare supplement will work for me. Unfortunately, in order to afford trips, I have to spend most of my time working :) But even planning a trip makes me happy. I wonder where my next adventure will take me!

Give Me Five words that describe your blog!
1. Random 2. Faith 3. Oddball 4. Pet Peeves 5. Fun!
I know it has been a few months I've decided to take a break from the Monday meme called Give Me Five! My apologies to all those who enjoyed playing along, I just have not been able to get back in that blogging place where GM5 is my priority. Well, that is about to change!
Very soon, I will be starting the meme again and we will have all sorts of new topics to post about! As always, please leave a comment or email me with your topic suggestions. Just try to remember that they need to be neutral...you know, they need to be open to a wide range of people. For instance, I might ask you to Give Me Five songs from your Mp3 players that you just can't help but to sing along to. Or something like that :)
I've decided to hold back from hosting the Give Me Five Monday meme here at BeccA's Buzz. I'm sorry to disappoint those who regularly played along. To you, I owe this explanation. Honestly, part of the motivation behind this comes from the fact that the participation level dropped way down, probably due to the inconsistency of the original posts. My fault.
But with everything else going on right now, I just feel like maybe it would be a good idea to take a break and perhaps rethink the current Give Me Five format. I'm open for ideas, if anyone has them.
*Special Year End Edition of the Give Me Five Meme*
This week, I've decided to push back the Give Me Five Monday Meme until today, Wednesday, for a special year end edition. 2008 brought many small moments to reflect upon as well as the bigger moments we will never forget. So, without further ado, I bring you the topic of today's GM5:
Give Me Five of your personal favorite moments, memories, stories or photos of 2008.
1. I got to meet Kirk Cameron!!! Ok, for those of you who know me, you know I was a big fan of Kirk's back in the day. I never thought I would actually meet him this side of heaven and I did. Here's a bit of the back story on how it all came about and why meeting Kirk Cameron had such a special meaning to me.
2. Baby DJ is born! On Father's Day (June 15th) my cousin had their first baby, a boy. He's so cute and precious, it has been a real joy watching him grow these past few months. He's doing really well and thriving and getting stronger and bigger every day.
3. I discovered Setting Captives Free, a wonderful website for people who are afflicted with addictions. Mine is with food. I started 'The Lord's Table-Phase 1' and enjoyed healthy successes! Of course, I began to slack with the bible study part and soon after, the eating part began to suffer as well. I am sooooo looking forward to getting started on the study all over again and getting back to eating in a way that glorifies God!
4. Home improvements. Well, I'm still under construction but there are many great changes that have been accomplished and many more to come. The work done in 2008 is setting a great stage for a more organized and tidy 2009, much overdue too. When I was on my trip to Maryland, I visited (I tore up!) an Ikea store, purchasing lots of new styled kitchen-y type items to redecorate that space with. I'm so over the 'Americana' decor that I've had ever since I moved out of my mom's house 9 years ago. So out with the old and bring on the new! My brother has been over lately helping me put up shelves and a pot rack...I can't wait to show you pictures once everything is cleaned and put up/out! After the kitchen, it's on to the other rooms....I could really use a tv stand...oh bother, that's just getting me started! LOL
5. My recent trip to Maryland. I didn't blog about my recent trip because it was so short and sweet. But I also don't want to sell it short either! I enjoyed many things about my trip, especially when I'm in a new city just mulling about trying to find things and getting around on unfamiliar public transportation, it's incredibly humbling and yet it gives you a sense of strength at the same time. When you are taken out of your comfort zone and get to experience new things that other people take for granted. It's great, a thrill of sorts for me. I visited some museums as planned and shopped in Ikea, much to my overwhelming joy......for 5 hours! Plus we also visited the Creation Museum on the way back. It was great!
So that was a brief highlight of my 2008, of course there were many ups and downs along the way, including the bad news about my baby boy, PJ who now has some health issues we are working on. I'd like to leave this year with a thought from one of my favorite songs this holiday season. Peace on Earth is a holiday album released by Casting Crowns. A very noteworthy line in the song 'I heard the bells on Christmas day' says, "God is not dead. Nor does He sleep." Remember, there is no Plan B. He's still in control of the original Plan A!

Give Me Five favorite holiday foods.
There's nothing like the holidays for creative special foods that people only make once a year. Yummy!
